A passionate mother and advocate for children’s internet safety came to me with a personal and creative vision. Her daughter had drawn a whimsical character, and she saw potential in that drawing to become the centerpiece of a young adult novel that could support a future nonprofit initiative focused on digital literacy and the dangers of AI.

She wasn’t an author herself but had the heart of a storyteller and a powerful “why.” She wanted a professionally written book that could entertain, educate, and inspire, especially among school-age children.

We began by analyzing the drawing and building a story world around it. The client wanted something magical but grounded in real lessons about AI, screen addiction, and the hidden risks of internet usage.

Over three months, we developed a 15,000-word young adult novel about a child protagonist who enters the internet through a magical portal. The client remained involved throughout the project, reviewing chapters and offering feedback.

Once the manuscript was complete, we shared it with several elementary and middle school teachers who read it to their students and provided feedback. The book was met with enthusiasm, students loved the imaginative adventure, and teachers praised its ability to open conversations about online safety in a relatable way.

The final manuscript was a thoughtful, engaging young adult adventure, emotionally rich, visually inspired, and built around core messages about the modern online world. While unpublished, it’s a ready-to-launch educational tool.
