These Terms of Service are general website terms intended to cover standard issues for a professional services website. They do not constitute a client services agreement. Actual ghostwriting, editing, coaching, or consulting engagements with Richard Lowe are governed by a separate Statement of Work that is individually negotiated and drafted for each specific project. Nothing on this page should be interpreted as those Statement of Work terms.

If you are a prospective client evaluating an engagement, the Statement of Work you sign at the start of your project is the binding agreement that governs the work. These website terms are separate and govern only your use of this website.

1. About This Site

thewritingking.com is the professional website of Richard Lowe, operating as The Writing King, a ghostwriting and book development practice based in Florida, United States. The site publishes information about ghostwriting services, books authored by Richard Lowe, case studies, testimonials, articles, podcast episodes, and related professional content.

You may use this site to read content, evaluate services, contact Richard for inquiries, book appointments, and access freely published resources. You agree to use the site lawfully and respectfully.

You may quote brief excerpts (a sentence or two) for non-commercial purposes such as reviews, academic citations, or commentary, provided you credit Richard Lowe and link back to the original page. Beyond that, written permission is required.

Books referenced on this site (including The Ghostwriting Advantage, the Enemies of You series, the Peacekeeper series, and Richard’s other published works) are the intellectual property of their respective authors and publishers. Visiting this site does not grant you any rights to those books.

Service descriptions, case studies, pricing references, and process information published on this site are intended to help prospective clients evaluate whether ghostwriting services from The Writing King are a fit for their needs.

Nothing on this site constitutes a binding offer of services or a service agreement. All client engagements are governed by separate written contracts negotiated between Richard Lowe and the client. Pricing examples on this site are illustrative, not quoted prices. Actual pricing is determined during the discovery call and engagement scoping process.

Testimonials and case studies published on this site reflect specific past client experiences. Results vary based on the client, the book, the market, and many other factors. Past client outcomes do not guarantee similar outcomes for future clients.

5. Appointments and Scheduling

Appointments, discovery calls, and podcast recordings are booked directly on this site at thewritingking.com/booking-form and related booking pages. Booking is provided for prospective clients, podcast guests, journalists, and others with legitimate professional inquiries.

When you select a time slot, it may be held briefly for you while you complete the form; the hold expires automatically if you do not finish. Booking an appointment creates a calendar reservation, a video meeting link where applicable, and confirmation and reminder messages to the contact details you provide. You may cancel or reschedule using the links in your confirmation email.

Scheduling a discovery call does not create a client relationship or contractual obligation. A client relationship is established only when a signed engagement contract is in place.

6. SMS Messaging Terms

The following terms apply if you opt in to SMS reminders when booking. You will receive transactional reminder messages about your own appointment or recording. Message frequency may vary with your bookings. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of booking or of any purchase. Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time, or HELP for assistance.

Mobile numbers and opt-in data are handled as described in the Privacy Policy and are not sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

7. Podcast Guest Appearances

You agree to the release terms presented on the booking form when you book a podcast recording (for example, Leaders & Their Stories or Conversations with Influencers). In summary: the recording and materials you supply for the episode (bio, introduction, links, photos) may be edited, produced, and published by Richard Lowe on this site, YouTube, and other distribution platforms, in perpetuity, with your name and likeness used to present and promote the episode.

Appearing as a guest is voluntary and unpaid, and no client, employment, or partnership relationship is created by an appearance. If you have concerns about an episode after publication, contact us through the contact page.

This site contains links to external websites, including renaissancefaire.net, the LinkedIn profile, Substack, and podcast platforms where Richard has appeared as a guest. These external sites are independent of thewritingking.com. Richard Lowe is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of external sites linked from this site.
