The Writing King

Editorial Standards

How the content on this site gets researched, written, checked, and corrected. The standards behind the 600+ articles published here.

Who writes this site

Every article on The Writing King is written or directly supervised by Richard Lowe Jr., ghostwriter of 54+ client books and author of 113+ under his own name, with 33 years of prior experience in enterprise IT including 20 as Director of Computer Operations at Trader Joe’s. Credentials, verification links, and third-party corroboration are published on the professional background page.

There is no content team, no outsourced writers, and no guest-post-for-pay program. One practice, one voice, one person accountable for every claim.

Sourcing and accuracy

Claims come from experience or sources. Articles about ghostwriting practice draw on real projects, anonymized per client confidentiality. Industry claims cite identifiable sources, such as the Gotham Ghostwriters / Josh Bernoff survey of 1,481 writers referenced throughout this site.

Examples are real. Client anecdotes describe actual engagements with identifying details removed. This site previously contained a small number of articles with AI-fabricated examples; those were identified, removed, and replaced with genuine ones. That cleanup is why this policy exists in writing.

Numbers get verified. Statistics, dates, prices, and quotations are checked against original sources before publication. AI output never fact-checks itself.

AI use on this site

AI tools are used on this site the same way they are used in client work, under the standards in the Ghostwriter Code of Conduct: research synthesis, structural feedback, identifying weak passages, and editing support. Judgment, positions, experience, and final wording are human.

Any factual claim that passes through an AI workflow is verified against its original source before publication. AI is never used to invent examples, testimonials, or experience.

Corrections

Errors get fixed when found, and substantive corrections are noted in the article. Factual errors reported by readers are verified and corrected promptly; use the contact page to report one.

Older articles are periodically reviewed and updated. Where an article’s advice has been superseded, it is revised or redirected to current guidance rather than left to mislead.

Reviews, affiliations, and ads

Book reviews on this site reflect genuine reading and use; review copies or affiliate relationships do not change conclusions. FTC disclosure rules are followed for any affiliate link or business relationship.

This site does not sell guest posts, paid links, or sponsored placements presented as editorial content.
