Actor: Brendan Gleeson

Brendan Gleeson taught secondary school in Dublin until he was thirty-four before acting professionally, which is a very late start for a career of this size.

In Bruges is the definitive performance, playing a hitman with a genuine moral code opposite Colin Farrell, and the two reunited for The Banshees of Inisherin, which earned Gleeson a Best Supporting Actor nomination.

The Guard, Calvary and In the Name of the Father show the Irish work, and he played Mad-Eye Moody and Winston Churchill in different registers entirely.

His sons Domhnall and Brian both act, and the three have appeared together.
