Charlie Kaufman won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and wrote Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and Synecdoche New York. Adaptation is about his own failure to adapt a book and includes a fictional twin brother credited as co-writer, who was also nominated.
