Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave (1995)
A Close Shave is the third Wallace and Gromit short and one of the finest pieces of stop-motion animation ever produced. The short runs approximately thirty minutes.
Nick Park created Wallace and Gromit at the National Film and Television School and has won four Academy Awards, three for the shorts and one for Chicken Run. Gromit has no mouth and no dialogue and is among the most expressive characters in animation, which is done entirely with eyebrows.
A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers and A Close Shave are the core, and The Wrong Trousers in particular is a technically extraordinary chase film built in plasticine.
The work at Aardman remains almost entirely handmade, with fingerprints visible in the material, which the studio has treated as a feature.
