Rayne Hall is a British author and editor, born and raised in Germany, who has published well over a hundred books across fantasy, horror, and the writing craft, often under several pen names and in multiple languages.
She holds a college degree in publishing management and a master's degree in creative writing, and over three decades she has worked throughout the publishing industry as a journalist, magazine editor, production editor, concept editor, and editorial consultant, among other roles.
Hall is best known for her bestselling Writer's Craft series, practical guides aimed at advanced and professional authors, with titles such as Writing Fight Scenes, Writing Scary Scenes, Writing About Villains, Writing About Magic, and Writing Vivid Settings. She also edits the Ten Tales fantasy and horror anthologies.
Having lived in Germany, China, Mongolia, Nepal, and Britain, she has drawn on a wide range of experience in both her fiction and her instructional work, which is prized for being specific, hands-on, and genre-aware.
