Actor: Sterling Holloway

Sterling Holloway had a distinctive high, reedy voice that made him one of Disney’s most used voice performers across four decades.

He voiced Winnie the Pooh, the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland, Kaa in The Jungle Book and the stork in Dumbo, which is four separate roles that fixed how those characters sound permanently.

He acted on screen in more than a hundred live-action films before the voice work, and served in the Army during the war.
