Ryan Reynolds spent a decade in unsuccessful franchise attempts, including Green Lantern and the mouth-sewn version of Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

He campaigned for years to make Deadpool properly, and leaked test footage forced the studio’s hand. The film was made cheaply, was R-rated, and became the highest-grossing R-rated film to that point.

The Voices and Buried show a range the comedy obscures, the latter taking place entirely inside a coffin. He is a substantial businessman, having sold stakes in a gin brand and a mobile network.
