Griffin Dunne played the increasingly decomposed friend in An American Werewolf in London, appearing in progressively worse makeup across the film while remaining entirely conversational. After Hours gave him a lead for Martin Scorsese, and he has directed several features and documentaries including one about his aunt Joan Didion.
