Actor: Elliott Gould

Elliott Gould was nominated for Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice and had one of the largest runs of any American actor around 1970, appearing on the cover of Time as the face of a new kind of star.

MASH and The Long Goodbye are the essential ones, the latter giving him a shambling Philip Marlowe that outraged purists and is now widely considered definitive.

He was married to Barbra Streisand, and the Ocean’s films and Friends gave him a long late presence.
