Actor: Elijah Wood

Elijah Wood was a working child actor through the 1990s and was eighteen when The Lord of the Rings began shooting, spending more than a year in New Zealand across the three films.

Frodo is a difficult role because the character is largely passive and increasingly damaged, and Wood plays the deterioration instead of the heroism.

The subsequent career has been deliberately odd. Sin City, Maniac, Everything Is Illuminated and a long run in horror production through his company SpectreVision.

He also DJs and has been open that he actively avoided the leading-man path the trilogy offered.
