Antonio Banderas was nominated for Best Actor for Pain and Glory, playing a version of Pedro Almodóvar for the director himself, after five earlier films together. Desperado and The Mask of Zorro made him a Hollywood star, and he voices Puss in Boots. He survived a heart attack in 2017 and has since directed.
