Michael G Wilson is the stepson of Albert Broccoli and has produced the Bond series alongside Barbara Broccoli for decades, but he also co-wrote five of the films across the Moore and Dalton eras, including For Your Eyes Only and Licence to Kill.
Those scripts represent the series at its most grounded. For Your Eyes Only deliberately reversed the space-station excess of Moonraker, and Licence to Kill is closer to a revenge thriller than to anything the franchise had made.
He trained as an electrical engineer and a lawyer before entering the family business, and has appeared in a cameo in nearly every Bond film since 1979.
