Writer: Jonathan Nolan

Jonathan Nolan wrote the short story Memento Mori, which his brother Christopher adapted into Memento, and the two have collaborated on The Prestige, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar.

His independent work is in television, where he created Person of Interest and co-created Westworld, both of which run on the same interests as the films: memory, determinism and whether a person is the sum of their record.

Westworld’s first season in particular uses a nested timeline structure that requires the audience to reconstruct the order, which is recognisably the family method.
