Joel Soisson has written and produced an enormous number of genre sequels, including several Prophecy, Hellraiser and Dracula entries, largely for the direct-to-video market.
That market has its own economics: fixed low budgets, short schedules and an obligation to deliver a recognisable property. Soisson worked inside those constraints for decades and the results are more considered than the format’s reputation suggests.
He also co-wrote Pulse and produced Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, which is a considerably more visible credit than most of his filmography.
