Jordan's Killmonger is one of the franchise's best villains. Production and costume design earned Academy Awards.

Joe Robert Cole co-wrote Black Panther with Ryan Coogler, earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay, which was the first for a superhero film in that category.
The achievement is Killmonger. The antagonist’s argument about diaspora and obligation is coherent enough that the film has to answer it instead of simply defeating him, which is rare in the form.
He also wrote for The People v OJ Simpson and returned for Wakanda Forever, and directed All Day and a Night.
