Director: Michael Lehmann

Michael Lehmann directed Heathers as his first feature, a high school black comedy about murder that was too dark for 1989 audiences and became one of the most influential teen films ever made. Almost every subsequent cynical high school picture is working in its shadow.

He followed it with Hudson Hawk, which is one of the canonical box office disasters and has acquired a small defensive following.

He has worked steadily in television since, including Sex and the City and True Blood, where the black comic register found a home.
