Director: Jake Kasdan

Jake Kasdan, son of Lawrence Kasdan, directed Zero Effect and the music biopic parody Walk Hard before moving into studio comedy with Bad Teacher and Sex Tape.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was the surprise. Reviving a property twenty years on by making the premise a video game, and casting adults playing teenagers playing avatars, gave the cast something specific to do and grossed close to a billion dollars.

Walk Hard remains the connoisseur’s pick, a parody so precise that it made the music biopic formula difficult to use straight for years.
