Actor: Song Kang-ho

Song Kang-ho has appeared in four Bong Joon-ho films and is the most recognisable actor in Korean cinema, having never trained formally and come up through theatre improvisation.

Memories of Murder gives him a rural detective whose incompetence is genuinely funny until it is not, and Parasite gives him a father whose dignity erodes across the film.

The Host, Snowpiercer and Thirst fill out the range. He won Best Actor at Cannes for Broker, and Parasite won Best Picture with him at its centre.
