Silvia Pinal appeared in three Luis Buñuel films, Viridiana, The Exterminating Angel and Simon of the Desert, and Viridiana won the Palme d’Or and was immediately banned in Spain. She was a major figure of Mexican cinema and a producer, and worked into her nineties.
