Robin Williams won Best Supporting Actor for Good Will Hunting, playing a therapist whose stillness is the exact opposite of everything else he did, and the park bench monologue is the best scene in that film.

The comic performances were largely improvised. The Genie in Aladdin generated more than sixteen hours of recorded material, and Mrs Doubtfire required the studio to cut a version for each rating.

Dead Poets Society, Awakenings and One Hour Photo show the dramatic range. He died in 2014, and the subsequent diagnosis of Lewy body dementia reframed the last years considerably.
