Robert Davi played Franz Sanchez in Licence to Kill, a drug lord whose personal code makes him one of the more coherent Bond villains, and Big Johnson in Die Hard.
The Goonies gives him Jake Fratelli, and Showgirls gives him a role he has discussed with some humour.
He is a trained operatic baritone who studied with Tito Gobbi and now performs Sinatra material at concert level, which is a genuinely unusual second career.
