Actor: Ralph Bellamy

Ralph Bellamy was so consistently cast as the dull suitor who loses the woman that His Girl Friday makes a joke of it, with Cary Grant describing him as looking like that fellow in the movies, Ralph Bellamy.

He was nominated for The Awful Truth, played Franklin Roosevelt on stage and screen, and served as president of Actors’ Equity for four terms. Trading Places gave him a late comic role as one of the Duke brothers.
