Molly Ringwald was the central figure of John Hughes’s teen films, in Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink, and appeared on the cover of Time at eighteen. She turned down further Hughes projects, moved to France for several years, and has written thoughtfully about revisiting those films as an adult.
