Michael Jeter won a Tony Award for Grand Hotel and an Emmy for Evening Shade, and worked in film almost entirely in small distinctive parts.

The Green Mile gives him Eduard Delacroix, whose relationship with a mouse is the film’s most sentimental element and which he plays with enough conviction to carry it. Waterworld and Jurassic Park III fill out the range. He was open about his HIV status and died in 2003 at fifty-two.
