Lon Chaney Jr played the Wolf Man across five films and was the only performer to play all four major Universal monsters. He was the son of Lon Chaney, the Man of a Thousand Faces, and spent a career in his shadow, which he discussed openly. Of Mice and Men gave him Lennie, his best performance by a distance.
