Actor: Laura Dern

Laura Dern won Best Supporting Actress for Marriage Story, playing a divorce attorney whose monologue about mothers is the best writing in the film.

She worked with David Lynch across Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart and Inland Empire, the last of which is a three-hour experimental film that rests entirely on her.

Jurassic Park gave her Ellie Sattler, and Rambling Rose brought an earlier nomination alongside her mother Diane Ladd, the only mother and daughter nominated for the same film. Big Little Lies won her an Emmy.
