Julia Sawalha voiced Ginger in Chicken Run and played Saffron in Absolutely Fabulous, two very different registers of exasperation. She was not asked to return for the Chicken Run sequel, being told she sounded too old, which she made public and which prompted considerable discussion about ageism in voice casting.
