John Ritter won an Emmy for Three’s Company and had a considerable gift for physical comedy that the sitcom format used constantly. Sling Blade and Bad Santa gave him film roles of unexpected weight. He died in 2003 at fifty-four of an aortic dissection misdiagnosed as a heart attack.
