JoBeth Williams played the mother in Poltergeist and its sequel, and the sequence in which she falls into a muddy pool with skeletons was shot using real human skeletons, which she was not told about until afterward.
The Big Chill and Kramer vs Kramer fill out the film work, and she has worked extensively in television with two Emmy nominations. She served as president of the Screen Actors Guild Foundation.
