Predator (1987) Review
The film is thrilling on its surface and interesting underneath, which is rarer in the action genre than the genre's reputation suggests. This is not a film that accidentally achieved something.

Jesse Ventura was a professional wrestler and Navy underwater demolition veteran before acting, and appeared in Predator and The Running Man, both opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Predator gives him the minigun and the line about not having time to bleed, which has outlived most of the film’s dialogue.
He was elected Governor of Minnesota in 1998 as a third-party candidate, which remains among the more unexpected results in American electoral history.
