Jenette Goldstein played Vasquez in Aliens, and the character became a template for the female action soldier that a great many films have copied since.
She also appeared in Terminator 2 as John Connor’s foster mother and in Titanic as an Irish mother, which makes three Cameron films in different registers.
Near Dark gave her a vampire, and she later founded a business making bras for hard-to-fit sizes, which she has run alongside occasional acting.
