Grace Kelly made only eleven films across five years and won Best Actress for The Country Girl, playing against the glamour she was known for.
Hitchcock used her three times, in Dial M for Murder, Rear Window and To Catch a Thief, and Rear Window gives her the best of it, a woman whose competence the protagonist keeps failing to notice. She married Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956 and never acted again, which Hitchcock regretted publicly for the rest of his life.
