Geneviève Bujold was nominated for Best Actress for Anne of the Thousand Days, playing Anne Boleyn opposite Richard Burton.

Coma gave her a rare female lead in a 1970s thriller where the protagonist is a doctor and is proven right against institutional dismissal.

She worked repeatedly with David Cronenberg, in Dead Ringers, and was cast as Captain Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager before leaving after two days of filming. She is Québécoise and has worked in French throughout.
