E G Marshall played juror number four in 12 Angry Men, the stockbroker who reasons entirely from logic and changes his vote only when the logic changes, which makes him the film’s most interesting holdout.
The Defenders won him two Emmy Awards, and Creepshow and Superman II gave him later film work. He played several presidents and a great many judges and officials across a fifty-year career.
