Danny Kaye starred in White Christmas and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and his tongue-twisting patter songs were largely written by his wife Sylvia Fine. He was UNICEF’s first goodwill ambassador and flew himself around the world for the organisation as a licensed pilot.
