WarGames (1983) Review
WarGames is one of the best technological thrillers of the 1980s and one of the most influential American films about computer culture ever produced. John Badham had previously directed Saturday Night Fever and Blue Thunder.

Dabney Coleman specialised in men of complete smugness, in 9 to 5, Tootsie and WarGames, and made the type entirely his own. Nine to Five gives him a boss so unpleasant that the film’s revenge fantasy structure requires no justification. He won an Emmy and worked steadily until his death in 2024.
