Actor: Clark Gregg

Clark Gregg played Agent Coulson across the early Marvel films in what began as a functional role and became, largely through audience response, the connective tissue of the entire series.

His death in The Avengers is the plot device that unites the team, and the character was revived for seven seasons of Agents of SHIELD.

He is also a writer, having written What Lies Beneath and adapted and directed Chuck Palahniuk’s Choke.

He came from the Atlantic Theater Company alongside David Mamet and William H Macy, and works regularly on stage.
