Rush Hour (1998, 2001, 2007)
Rush Hour is the buddy cop trilogy that made Jackie Chan a Hollywood leading man and Chris Tucker an A-list comedy actor for a brief window of his career. Brett Ratner directed all three films.
Chris Tucker played Detective James Carter across the Rush Hour trilogy opposite Jackie Chan, and the pairing of his verbal speed against Chan’s physical comedy is what made the films work. Friday and The Fifth Element gave him earlier roles, and he negotiated an enormous fee for the third Rush Hour before largely stepping away.
