Chris Elliott played Ned Ryerson’s counterpart register in Groundhog Day as the cameraman, and Cabin Boy gave him a genuinely strange cult lead. He came from Late Night with David Letterman, where his recurring characters were built on antagonising the host, and he has worked constantly in comedy since.
