Actor: Catherine O'Hara

Catherine O’Hara came from SCTV, the Canadian sketch series, alongside John Candy and Eugene Levy, and the improvisational training runs through everything she has done.

Beetlejuice gave her Delia Deetz, a pretentious sculptor played at an extraordinary pitch, and Home Alone gave her a genuinely moving performance inside a slapstick film.

She has worked repeatedly with Christopher Guest in the improvised mockumentaries, and her song in A Mighty Wind was largely her own writing.

Schitt’s Creek brought her a late and enormous surge in recognition, and she voiced Sally in The Nightmare Before Christmas.
