Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)
Billie Mae Richards voices Rudolph. The special is technically stop-motion puppet animation instead of claymation, executed by Tadahito Mochinaga's animation team at MOM Production in Tokyo.
Burl Ives won Best Supporting Actor for The Big Country and narrated Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer as Sam the Snowman, which has been broadcast annually for six decades. He was a major folk singer who was named in Red Channels and testified before HUAC, which permanently divided the folk community.
