Brion James played Leon in Blade Runner, whose interrogation opens the film and establishes what a replicant is, and Tanker in The Fifth Element. He appeared in more than a hundred films, usually as heavies, and had one of the more recognisable faces in 1980s genre cinema. He died at forty-seven.
