Bradley Cooper has been nominated nine times across acting, writing, producing and directing, which is a very unusual spread, and has not won.

He broke through in The Hangover as a comic actor and then took Silver Linings Playbook, American Sniper and A Star Is Born in consecutive nomination years.

He voices Rocket in the Guardians films, and the third one gives that character the emotional center of the entire trilogy, which is remarkable for a computer-generated raccoon.

He directed A Star Is Born and Maestro, learning conducting for six years for the latter, and studied acting at the Actors Studio.
