Actor: Bibi Andersson

Bibi Andersson appeared in thirteen Ingmar Bergman films, beginning as a teenager, and The Seventh Seal and Wild Strawberries gave her early roles.

Persona is the achievement, playing a nurse who talks continuously to a patient who says nothing, and the film’s psychological merger between the two rests on her doing almost all the speaking.

She won Best Actress at Berlin for The Touch and worked internationally including for John Huston. She died in 2019.
