Ben Cross played Harold Abrahams in Chariots of Fire, a Jewish runner at Cambridge facing institutional antisemitism, and the performance carries the film’s less comfortable half. He appeared in Star Trek as Spock’s father and worked extensively in European television. He died in 2020.
