Barbara Shelley appeared in Dracula: Prince of Darkness and Quatermass and the Pit, and is generally regarded as Hammer’s finest actress. The Dracula performance requires her to shift from repressed Victorian propriety to something else entirely, and she asked to have her fangs fitted properly instead of approximating them.
