Actor: Barbara Hershey

Barbara Hershey won Best Actress at Cannes twice, for Shy People and A World Apart, which very few performers have done.

Hannah and Her Sisters, The Last Temptation of Christ and Beaches gave her a strong 1980s run, and Black Swan brought a late nomination for playing a controlling mother. She briefly changed her name to Barbara Seagull in the 1970s after an incident involving a seagull during filming, which she later described as a period she had moved past.
