Lawrence of Arabia (1962)
Lawrence in his first major film. Lawrence in his first major film role.
Anthony Quinn won Best Supporting Actor twice, for Viva Zapata and Lust for Life, the latter for about eight minutes on screen as Gauguin.
He was Mexican and Irish by birth and was cast as Greek, Italian, Arab, Inuit and Chinese across his career, which was standard practice and has aged poorly. Zorba the Greek and Lawrence of Arabia are the ones that endure, and he was a serious painter and sculptor throughout.
